Digital Privacy and Security Basics for Businesses

Learn from The Van Diemen Project about basic tips on keeping your business digital data, such as passwords, private and secure.

While we all know the importance of protecting the privacy of customers and employees, it can be hard for small businesses to keep up with all the implications of how different software platforms use our data, and not to mention that it is already difficult enough to just remember all of the unique passwords we are supposed to use!

Learn from The Van Diemen Project about basic tips on keeping your business digital data private and secure, some of the guiding principles and the best practice in a range of simple ways to look after the valuable data that your business hold onto. For most, these details can be quite difficult to understand and implement, however this session will be incredibly practical to help you review what your business does and how to keep everything important secure.

The workshop will cover the following topics:

• Introduction to the CBPR

• Software that small businesses can use to help keep important data secure.

This Digital Privacy and Security Basics for Businesses session is part of the Australian Government Small Business Advisory Service Business Resilience Program. The program is specifically designed to assist small businesses suffering the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis.

With Tasmanian small businesses looking to strengthen after the harder lockdowns due to COVID-19, it is also forcing businesses to look within to build skills within the team to better prepare to make the most of every single opportunity. So to help local small businesses, The Van Diemen Project is going to deliver a series of short, practical workshops to help business owners and employees in a range of areas to help businesses be more resilient and better placed for the future.

All sessions begin at 7 pm on Monday nights to allow small business operators who work during the day to access them.

**To be eligible for the ASBAS Business Resilience Program, you must be for profit, have an ABN, and employ 19 employees or less.
